Q: How did you get involved in the Wheelmen Community?
A. I had been an amateur driver for about a month when I ran into the Top Ranked Wheelmen thread on BNet. From there I joined the Wheelman group on Bungie and got caught up in trying to get onto the leaderboard (which I never really managed to…). I was one of the first to sign up when we got our new site, back in early March.
Q: Do you have a main gunner? If so, who is it primary gunner and why?
A: Not at the moment, but I’ve had a couple. My first gunner was Tr1xSh0t, I was with him until I reached Wheelman status (yes kids, these ranks have been around that long!), then he sold his Xbox so I just floated around for a while. For about a month Blackdragon771 was my main gunner, but since then I haven’t really had a main. I’ve driven most of the top gunners here and it’s always a treat when you have one of those guys with “sticky bullets” in the back of your hog!
Q: Other than the Halo's, what is your favorite game and why?
A: Halo is really all I play on the Xbox. Outside of that, I would have to say Age of Empires II solely because of the map editor. Forge has nothing on that thing… The AoE series is made by Ensemble Studios, which is closing down after the production of Halo Wars—a shame, since they have been hands down the greatest RTS studio since the genre was introduced. There’s a community, Age of Kings Heaven, that does simply phenomenal things with the map editor and other such things with that game. If I showed you some of the top user-created content for that game and then showed you the original game campaign without telling you which was which, you would probably think the original campaign was made by a 12-year-old on a rainy Friday afternoon. Q: What's the most important thing to remember while driving?
A: The most important thing when driving is to be aware of your surroundings. Which team has laser? Does that guy behind that rock have rockets or just a BR? Is someone hiding with stickies around this corner? Experience will tell you how people will respond to being crushed by the Warthog.
Q: What gives you satisfaction while driving and why? (examples- splattering someone, gunner getting overkill or higher, killing laser guy, killing banshee, gunner getting a good spree?)
A: Nothing pleases me more than saving the objective while driving. I love it when the enemy has our flag right next to their base, I drive over to help recover, and we get 10-20 kills just defending the flag while our foot soldiers make that impossible recovery. Also amazing is when your team is arming the bomb and you kill off their entire team as they desperately try to run to the base to disarm it. Whether your gunner gets a Killing Frenzy or two Invincibles, if you helped your team win, you have succeeded as a driver.
