The biggest danger in Rat's nest is the lack of room for maneuvers. However some good matches might get you in the +15s. Memorize the corridor spawn points and drive to your fullest extent. Also make sure your gunner is facing forward when you come around a corner, you never know what hides behind the other side.
Team:
Teammates should get the rockets. If they don't get them, try for them yourselves. Otherwise there's not too much a team can do to aid you in Rat's Nes except in more specific situations.
Routes:
The routes in Rat's nest are pretty self explanatory. You really have only a few options. Cutting through the middle can be rewarding as long as you don't get grenaded off the edge. At the beginning, always turn the direction the hog is closest to. This is the rocket spawn corridor. Help get a hold of the rockets. Some drivers like to run in front of the enemy base and do a u-turn at the end of the corridor to make continuous passes. However, remember that the enemy will spawn around the corner by the Sniper Rifle and are easy to mop up. Avoid power sliding through multiple enemies because barriers can slow you down and cause you to get boarded.
Dangers:
This list will be in order of most dangerous to least dangerous.
Rockets:
Rockets are often forgotten about except for at the beginning of the map. However a dominating hog might make enemies remember them so try and let your team know about them every time they respawn. The narrow corridors often mean youre going to get hit if an enemy does have the rockets.
Trip Mines:
There is a trip mine located at each enemy base, they are problematic most around corners. If you do manage to see one before it blows you up, have your gunner clear the path with his gun and move on.
Plasma Grenades:
The most common spot for plasma grenades to be grabbed is at the top of each base when you enter the side corridor. Watch out for enemies that are throwing sticks from the platform or are crouching and waiting on you to turn a corner.
Enemy Hog:
There are two enemy hogs, but they are rarely grabbed. Your teammates should be able to take them out. If not then try and out gun them and use all turns to your advantage.
Boarding:
Because sometimes getting boarded cannot be avoided practice all anti-boarding techniques. This maps narrow corridors can end up getting you boarded if you're not careful.
